Seeing the previous thread on this subject was hijacked and seeing there have been some updates to the project which Mario wanted known but as he can not log on
( Doug as he is told he is banned obviously a ISP filter problem that you may want to look at he wanted me to post the latest documentation including hex file but it wont let me attach the file as it is a rar file)
OK to the updates Mario has added an extra finer tuning to allow better EMI rejection and is in the process of adding Micro controlled Ground Balancing into the mix which only involves in minor changes to the current circuit board I will be testing the current upgrades when I can re flash the chip I am at present having problems probably self inflicted i tried to flash it and have now lost the display but I am sure with Mario's help we will sort it out.

Regards, Ian. happy face

Hi Doug,

Mario is not a member he was trying to log on as a guest whether he joins up or not is a matter for him but I think he is reticent because of the politics.

Thank you Doug,

I've been having technical issues with my login. For some reason, I have not been able to view the site, which was a bit frustrating because I had done so a few weeks back.

Anyway, I thank you for fixing the problems. I'm now able to view the site from home.

I would have commented on the latest version I provided Ian, but there really aren't many changes. The only note worthy change comes in the form of fine tuning. Also, I finally took time to write some documentation. I included it in the package, which I hope will help any one interested in modifying their boards.

I had not included fine tuning in the previous release because I had not deemed it necessary. It's not until Ian asked specifically for this feature that I felt obliged. As you know, my 2100 includes a stock fine tuning knob that I find very useful. After realizing Minelab did not include this feature in the 2000s, I felt compelled to include it.

I hope the guys here find it useful.

Mario,

Welcome aboard.

Good to see you here.

Still working on my machines getting them going.  I have Stefan's board stuffed all but two caps and almost ready to install.  Once I get the 2000 going will assemble your board and install it also.

Good to see all of you here.

Jonn, I never did ask, but did you ever get your 2000 working?

It seemed like you were close to making a breakthrough last time I spoke with you. I hope you did. That detector has given you nothing but problems.

Also, Ian, please let me know if you've gotten that file programmed to your unit. I think I need to write a tutorial detailing how to better program them.

I included several large images showing the important settings on AVR Studio 4.

Hi, Mario,
No, not yet.  Got all the components pulled ready to install Stefan's mod.  Have two caps to install on his board that I forgot to order.  Got them this last weekend.  As I stated in my other post, once the machine makes noise, will put your board together.  Not finding much time to work on it lately.  Always something takes precedence.  Did pick up a 11" DD coil for the 2000 and the 2100V2 though.  Getting all the pieces together.

Will be interested in your new project also.  Should prove beneficial to many. . . . .  Keep me posted.    .

Are there any block diagram of Mario's micro mod  control for SD2000/2100?

Mean block diagram togheter with SD (block diagram) stages.

Ian,  we seem to have run into the same problem each and every time we try to update your board's software. The only solution appears to include a dummy file zipped alongside the hex to bump up the file size. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you have your board working.

WM6, the sequence diagram is rather simple. Turning the pot provides the user with 9 menu screens. within each screen, you have the option of either using the encoder or the push button found in the encoder. For instance, if you turn the pot to one of the frequency  tracking options, turning the encoder counter clockwise will track the frequency backwards. Alternatively, if you rotate the encoder clockwise, the frequency will track forwards. On the other hand, if you push the button, the current frequency will be saved to the Atmega's eeprom. Once saved, the program will load the frequency the next time you restart your detector.

The manual included in the files reveal more details from the menu selections.
